The Greysheet Catalog (GSID) of the Patterns (1862) series of Pattern Coinage in the U.S. Coins contains 27 distinct entries with CPG® values between $1,550.00 and $7,200.00.
Patterns for the year 1862 echo those of 1861 and consist of reprise issues of the half dollar and $10 denominations with the motto GOD OUR TRUST. The same reverse dies were used, one with the motto on a scroll and one with the letters plain in the field. Copper issues were nearly all produced with bronzed surfaces. Beyond these, several varieties of pattern cents were made.
