The Banco Agricola Comercial (Commercial Agricultural Bank) was founded in San Salvador on 17 May 1895, by José González Asturias and Rodolfo Duke with a 30-year concession.

On 22 October 1905, the first Banco Agricola Comercial headquarters building was destroyed by fire. It managed to keep operations running with the agreement of the Banco Occidental and the Banco Salvadoreño.
