In 1861, after taking over the Oriental Bank Corporation’s business in New Zealand, it eventually opened branches in Auckland (11 June 1861), Christchurch (19 July 1861), Dunedin (8 August 1861), and Wellington (30 August 1861). Other places of issue have also been confirmed, although their branch opening dates are unknown.
