£40,000 in Treasurer’s 6% 3 year Notes issued to exchange for all prior Rhode Island bills of $1 and over pursuant to the May 28, 1778 Act, and payable to the order of individuals making the exchange and endorsed by them. The denomination is in Lawful Money. The £10 denomination and portions of the date are also handwritten. All prior bills of $1 and over were made invalid after July 1, 1779. Signer was Joseph Clarke.
