Deep cameo surfaces. All but one known proof 1854 dollar is a restrike with the reverse die from 1859. These also feature a blundered date obverse that shows remnants of two widely misplaced digits. An errant 4 is visible near the rock base above the primary 54, and the top of a second misplaced 4 sits atop a dentil below the primary 4. No die defect is seen in the second A of AMERICA.
Obverse Description
Lady Liberty is seated on a rock bearing a shield with the word LIBERTY. 13 stars appear on the periphery. The date is centered at the bottom middle.
Reverse Description
The heraldic eagle is centered in the design with the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOL. around the periphery.
