CAC approved and CACG encapsulated coins fared well in public sales during the month of July 2026.
The 1851 Baldwin $10s were only struck for a few months, but early in the obverse die’s life, a tiny cud formed on the rim at about 12:30, followed by a substantial cud at about 9:15, which ultimately joins with star 4. The issue is quite rare and is usually found somewhat weakly struck. There are a handful of examples called uncirculated by the third-party grading services. An original, choice AU coin would be considered for the condition census.
