Obverse Description
Stars 8, 9 and 10 are recut OBV. 9. S1UE, S7C-UHHb, S8UE, S13LE. Stars are mostly sharp except star 8 which is flat and close to cap. Date is 7 mm. with small, slender sharp figures and a heavy serif at top of 1. A patch of tiny dots is usually visible near lower ribbon end. A small die line extends ¾ mm. from end of bust. This variety has an abnormally high and sharply serrated rim.
Reverse Description
Horizontal lines between stripes REV. I. A1B, A2LH, A3C. 50 C. is 1 ¼ mm. and rather high. The 5 small with straight top and closed loop. The 0 is an oblong and the C. is relatively large. A-A is ¾ mm. Letters are all small, sharp and distant from milling. There are horizontal lines between stripes. This reverse rim is also higher and sharper than usual. Double segment above last S in STATES. Lump in field near milling under left wing tip. (67,67,66,65,65) R.1
