Numismaster.com ceased operations on July 31, leaving paid digital subscribers scrambling to pursue other options for their numismatic information.
Original Packaging: A two-piece, transparent plastic casing with frosted borders held a black fiberboard insert containing holes for the coins. Printed on this insert was the word “Silver” in silver script. The assembled set was slipped into a black cardboard box upon which the words “United States Mint Silver Proof Set • 1993” were printed in silver script.
Commentary: With the Mint’s bicentennial over, far fewer of the silver Proof sets were sold in 1993. The scarcity and popularity of this edition are reflected in the solid aftermarket price. The silver Premier Proof set was again offered this year, selling a mere 191,140 units. For some reason not revealed, its price was raised just 50¢ to $37.50.
