1915-S One Cent MS RD Values

Details

The 1915-S Lincoln cent is a scarce semi-key in circulated grades but is one of the toughest coins to locate in Mint State grades. The 1915-S in any of the Red Gem grades is considerably tougher than nearly any other issue in the Lincoln cent series, eclipsing pieces like the 1914-D and 1926-S. it is a coin that for many years was perhaps under-appreciated in part due to relatively few collectors actively competing for these coins. Then came the advent of registry sets in the early 2000s and prices began climbing as relatively availability of full Red specimens all but dried up. Anyone hoping to land a nice Red Gem specimen should prepare to wait patiently until finding the right one.

Obverse: Bust of Abraham Lincoln framed by IN GOD WE TRUST on the top periphery. The word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait and the date and mintmark (If any) positioned on the right side.
