1880-S One Dollar MS Values

Details

The 1880-S Morgan dollar is an extremely common coin in all circulated grades as well as MS grades through the Gem levels, including MS66. MS67s and MS68s are much more challenging though also offer collectors -- particularly type collectors -- a reasonable opportunity to own a Morgan dollar in what is otherwise an esoteric grade range for this series. Registry set collectors vie for the rare opportunity to own a Morgan dollar in MS69, and this issue fields a handful at that incredible grade level, though for a price that is well beyond the financial means of most collector. PLs and DMPLs are proportionately scarcer than typical MS examples but widely available for this issue.

up This coin is made of 90% silver; 10% copper and has a current melt value of $66.76
