1856 Copper-Nickel Pattern Half Cent PR J-177 Values

Details

1856 Half Cent. Struck from regular dies. Trial pieces made to the extent of at least 50 pieces, apparently in two slightly differing copper-nickel alloys: one with 88% copper, 12% nickel alloy; the other 90% copper, 10% nickel alloy. These are impossible to distinguish today except by elemental analysis. Some auction listings may represent misattributed examples.
