Obverse Description
OBV. 4. This and the preceding marriage represent one of the anomalies of this series, inasmuch as this obverse die exists in both marriages, with and without the crack through star 12. Apparently brought about by some frequent switching of the dies. Most specimens of this marriage are not well struck. (see O.105)
Reverse Description
Solid triple segment above R REV. D. A1UE, A2UE, A3UE. 50 C. is 1 ¾ mm. A-A is 1 mm. Left sides of D and T are in line with right sides of E and I. Line 1 of stripe five solid to crossbar 2. Line 3 extends into right wing. The "solid" triple segment above R is actually three separate segments that are not well separated. When wear occurs the segments quickly appear to be one large triple segment. (see also O.110) (62,61,60,60,58) R.3
