The first of five planned releases, each featuring a 24-karat gold coin and a silver medal, is expected on June 4.
Following public input and expert recommendations, the Best of the Mint coins were selected. The selected coins include: the 1916 Mercury dime, the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter dollar, the 1916 Liberty Walking half dollar, the 1804 silver dollar, and the 1907 Saint-Gaudens high relief $20 gold coin.
The silver medals represent modern designs of the chosen coins. The gold coins will be struck at the West Point Mint while the silver medal will be created at the U.S. Mint’s Philadelphia facility.
The gold 1916 Mercury dime and corresponding silver medal will start the offerings. Future sales dates include the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter dollar set (July 10), the 1916 Liberty Walking half dollar set (August 6) and the 1804 dollar set (August 27). Availability of the 1907 Saint-Gaudens high relief $20 set will be announced at a later date.
The items will not be sold individually, offered only by the set. A mintage limit of 30,000 has been established for the first issue.
