Whitman Expos and the Raleigh Coin Club are pleased to announce a new partnership to produce the Raleigh Money Expo in 2027 and 2028, bringing together two organizations with complementary strengths and a shared commitment to serving the numismatic community.

The first Raleigh Money Expo under the new partnership will take place June 17–19, 2027, at the Raleigh Convention Center in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. The three-day event will be free and open to the public.

The partnership marks an exciting new chapter for an event that has grown into one of the Southeast’s most successful regional coin shows. Rather than introducing a competing event into an established market, Whitman Expos and the Raleigh Coin Club saw an opportunity to work together combining the Club’s local relationships, successful show experience, educational mission, and dedicated volunteer network with Whitman’s national reach, extensive dealer network, industry relationships, marketing resources, and experience producing major numismatic conventions.

“We are so excited for this next chapter and see this as the beginning of a long-term relationship,” said Christy Burbank, General Manager of Whitman Expos. “Even in the short amount of time working together, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible energy and passion the Raleigh Coin Club brings to the hobby and to its show. They genuinely care about serving collectors, dealers, young numismatists, and the broader community. Pairing that foundation with Whitman’s national reach gives us an opportunity to build something very special in Raleigh.”

A National Show with Strong Local Roots

Whitman Expos produces some of the nation’s largest coin and collectible conventions, drawing dealers and collectors from across the country. The expanded Raleigh Money Expo will bring Whitman’s national dealer and collector audience to a show that already has a strong following throughout North Carolina and the Southeast.

The partnership will also allow the event to expand the features collectors and dealers expect from a major national convention, including participation from leading grading services and other numismatic organizations, an official auction hosted by Stack’s Bowers Galleries, expanded exhibits and programming, and a larger national marketing effort.

Just as importantly, the Raleigh Coin Club will remain co-host and actively involved in the show. Its commitment to education—including exhibits, young numismatist activities, seminars, and other programming—will remain a central part of the Raleigh Money Expo experience.

That shared emphasis on growing and serving the hobby is one of the strongest connections between the two organizations.

Why Raleigh?

As Whitman explored a new summer destination for its national expo calendar, Raleigh quickly stood out.

The city offers the combination of convention infrastructure, transportation access, lodging, security, dining, and visitor amenities needed to support a major national event. The Raleigh Convention Center offers 500,000 square feet of total space, including nearly 150,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, extensive meeting facilities, and direct access to the attached Raleigh Marriott City Center.

For attendees traveling from around the country, Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) provides exceptional accessibility. RDU currently has 19 airlines operating more than 400 daily flights, with nonstop service reaching major hubs and destinations including Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Washington, D.C., and numerous international cities. The airport served more than 15.6 million passengers in 2025, underscoring Raleigh’s strength as a well-connected destination.

Combined with downtown Raleigh’s restaurants, hotels, attractions, and welcoming atmosphere, the city provides the kind of fun, convenient summer destination Whitman was looking for—for dealers, collectors, and families alike.

Building Something Bigger, Together

The vision for the Raleigh Money Expo is straightforward: preserve what has made the event successful while giving it the resources and reach to grow.

The Raleigh Coin Club brings a successful regional event, a loyal dealer and collector following, strong local relationships, volunteers, educational programming, and a genuine commitment to serving the hobby. Whitman brings a national audience, an extensive dealer network, relationships across the numismatic industry, major event-production capabilities, and the marketing reach to introduce Raleigh to collectors throughout the country.

Together, the organizations intend to make the Raleigh Money Expo the Carolinas’ premier collecting event and one of the outstanding numismatic gatherings in the United States.

Additional information—including a new Raleigh Money Expo website, dealer and attendee registration, hotel accommodations, programming, participating organizations, and complete show details—will be announced soon and available at whitmanexpo.com.
